Called "Anthill" Garnet because ants actually bring this material to the surface while building their colony structure. Reddest of all Garnets and is often confused with Ruby. Fine Cut = Precision cut or visually imitates a precision cut. These stones have equal and symmetrical faceting with proper cutting angles ("critical angle') and depth. Depth is between 60% and 70% of size listed. Size can vary +-0.1mm. 2-3mm (millimeter) gems are very small - less than 1/8 inch.
